HOW TO GET AWAY WITH IT
A tribute to Franca Valeri
with: Mirco Sassoli and Lorenzo Bachini
NATA Teatro
GENRE: Actor-led theatre and live music
Admission: €12.00
A tribute to Franca Valeri and her irreverent characters, each lost in a mask worn for every possible circumstance that daily life offers, perhaps to avoid
realising the emptiness that truly surrounds them. A journey
through their universality and relevance, without forgetting
that subtle irony and refinement that sets them apart. A
cynical and snobbish show, because, as Franca would say: “Snobbery used to be the art of the intellectual; today it is the art of the mediocre.
Wednesday 29 July – 9.15 pm

The show is inspired by the massacre and the tragic events
that took place in Carnaio (FC) on 25 July 1944.
Carnaio, close my eyes with a caress is a
production created to give meaning to and honour the memory of the dramatic events that took place during
the Second World War in the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines.
We would all like to erase painful events from our memory, but perhaps remembering them with compassion is
the only way to cover them with a caress. We are faced with the image of an adult closing the
eyes of a child so that they do not see something terrible. That hand over the eyes is, at the same
time, a gesture of protection and a caress. We find the same gesture of compassion when the
eyelids of a deceased person are closed. We have recounted the events of the Carnaio, and more, starting from
these ideas. For the production of the final show, Nata conducted a series of
interviews in the local area with witnesses and the descendants of those involved in those events.

ROMEO AND JULIET
By William Shakespeare
Written and performed by Livio Valenti, with Laura Ceccarelli
NATA Teatro
GENRE: Actor-led and puppet theatre
Admission: €12.00
I wouldn’t want to be here because to stand in front of an
audience I’d need to have something to say, but… I don’t know…
The only thing that makes sense to talk about, in theatre, is love.
But how does one speak of love?
Through the most beautiful story of all time: Romeo and Juliet.
Because this is the eternal story. It is eternal because A-MORS
means without death, for eternity.
Thus begins an incredible journey through love and passion, a gallop through the
brief yet intense period of the bond that unites the two protagonists.
It is not a period piece, but a popular, irreverent, essential Shakespeare. The whole
story is told, every detail, and in the end we do not weep for the death of the two lovers but for
the eternity of their story: forever! Thus Romeo and Juliet, the two lovers ‘born under an ill
star’, finally fly away, light, light, light.
A twist on Shakespeare’s words that describe our most beautiful feelings.
The performances will be preceded by the stage performance LUCINE, created by volunteer readers from the Bagno di Romagna library.
