Mercato Saraceno is decked out in festive style for the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the town’s patron saint: a celebration of faith, the sixth Cappelletto Festival, Mirko Casadei’s spectacular show and traditional games.

Monday 7 September
6th edition of the Sagra del Cappelletto
- An unmissable event for lovers of fine Romagna cuisine.
- 9.30 pm in Piazza Mazzini: concert by the Total Peppers, a rock/pop trio, followed by an engaging DJ set.
Tuesday 8 September
- 11.00 am: Solemn Mass, followed by the traditional blessing of the town and the community from the church forecourt.
- 9.00 pm in Piazza Mazzini: BALAMONDO WORLD MUSIC FESTIVAL featuring MIRKO CASADEI and the POPULAR FOLK ORCHESTRA, with special guests VALLANZASKA.
- 11.30 pm: a spectacular fireworks display.
FOR FAMILIES: GRANDPARENTS’ WOODEN TOYS
A wonderful new feature will run throughout the event: on both days of the festival, the central square will host traditional wooden toys curated by APS Nonno Banter. A timeless attraction sure to entertain children, teenagers and families alike with traditional, clever and entirely handmade games.
FOOD STALLS
In Mercato Saraceno, the ‘City of Wine’ and fine dining, the Pro Loco’s food stall is a must-visit and will be open throughout the festival.
This year, the culinary offering takes a leap in quality: alongside the traditional and unmissable cappelletti of the festival, the menu celebrates the region’s finest produce thanks to PDO-certified products: dishes featuring ‘Vitellone Bianco dell’Appennino Centrale’ PDO and ‘Squacquerone di Romagna’ PDO from the Centrale del Latte di Cesena.
Local wines are provided by the prestigious Mercato Saraceno wineries.
Throughout the festival, the Mercatese Pastoral Unit’s bountiful raffle will remain open.
