COME FAR LA FRANCA - A Tribute to Franca Valeri
Starring: Mirco Sassoli and Lorenzo Bachini
NATA Teatro
GENRE: Live-action theater and live music
Admission: €12.00
A tribute to Franca Valeri and her irreverent characters, each lost behind a mask worn for every possible circumstance that daily life offers, perhaps to avoid realizing the emptiness that truly surrounds them. A journey
through their universality and relevance, without forgetting the subtle irony and sophistication that set them apart. A cynical and snobbish show, because, as Franca would say: “Snobbery used to be the art of the intellectual; today it is the art of the mediocre.”
When: Wednesday, July 29 - 9:15 p.m.

The play is inspired by the massacre and the tragic events that took place in Carnaio (FC) on July 25, 1944. *Carnaio, Close My Eyes with a Caress* is a
production created to give meaning to and honor the memory of the dramatic events that occurred during World War II in the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines. We would all like to erase painful events from our memory, but perhaps remembering them with compassion is the only way to cover them with a caress. We are faced with the image of an adult closing a child’s eyes so the child won’t see something terrible. That hand over the eyes is, at the same time, a gesture of protection and a caress. We find the same gesture of compassion when the
eyelids of a deceased person are closed. We have recounted the events of the Carnaio—and beyond—drawing on these themes. To create the final performance, Nata conducted a series of interviews in the region with witnesses and descendants of those involved in those events.
When: Wednesday, August 5 - 9:15 p.m.
BERGAMOTTO SHOW
By and starring Pasquale Bergamotto (Spain)
GENRE: Clown Theater
Admission: €12.00
A celebration of friendship and the beauty of simple things. Sit back and relax:
Bergamotto is looking for new friends.
Humor, imagination, and play come together to explore all the nuances of happiness—the smile, the sigh, the emphasis, the anticipation, the wonder, and the tenderness—and to reach an audience of dreamers. Street theater and unconventional spaces. No script. An intergenerational experience. Based on play, improvisation, and constant interaction with the audience.
When: Wednesday, August 12 - 9:15 p.m.
ZONA FRANCA
Starring Federica Mafucci. Directed by Andrè Casaca.
Teatro C’Art
GENRE: Clown Theater
Admission: €12.00
Winner of the Audience Award at the 2020 Crashtest Contemporary Theater Festival – Valdagno
PalcoOff Award at the 2022 Milano FringeOff Festival
ZONA FRANCA is a realm where one can embrace one’s own madness as an act of freedom. It offers profound reflections on life and love. A place where audiences are transported into a free and imaginative world, yet journey through the depths of the uncertain and difficult life of Franca, the protagonist of the
show.
When: Wednesday, August 19 - 9:15 p.m.
ROMEO E GIULIETTA
By William Shakespeare
Written and performed by Livio Valenti, with Laura Ceccarelli
NATA Teatro
GENRE: Actor-led and puppet theater
Admission: €12.00
I wouldn’t want to be here because, to stand in front of an audience, I’d have to have something to say, but… I don’t know…
The only thing that makes sense to talk about in theater is love.
But how do you talk about love?
Through the most beautiful story of all time: Romeo and Juliet.
Because this is the eternal story. It’s eternal because A-MORS means “without death,” for eternity.
Thus begins an incredible journey into love and passion, a gallop through the brief yet intense span of the love that unites the two protagonists.
It’s not a period-costume production, but rather a popular, irreverent, and essential take on Shakespeare. The entire story is told, down to every detail, and in the end, we don’t weep for the death of the two lovers but for the eternity of their story: forever! Thus, Romeo and Juliet, the two lovers “born under an ill star,” ultimately fly away—light, light, light.
A whirlwind through Shakespeare’s words that describe our most beautiful feelings.
The performances will be preceded by the theatrical presentation LUCINE, created by volunteer readers from the Bagno di Romagna library.
